How to Use Botox Under the Chin

Botox is a prescription medication that is injected into muscles, typically on the face, to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing the muscles. Botox is made from a botulinum toxin and is approved by the U.S. Federal Drug Administration (FDA) for use on the face to reduce lines. According to the Botox website, over 11 million Botox cosmetic procedures have been performed in the United States since 2002. Botox may also be useful for other areas of the body, including the chin.

Instructions

Ask your doctor to inject Botox into the wrinkles in the chin area, starting at the corners of the mouth and working down underneath the chin.

Consult with your doctor as to whether or not Botox can help tighten the fat pads (jowls) around the chin, which lose volume over time, making them appear to droop.

Consider having Botox injected into the mentalis muscle of the chin to eliminate the puckering or dimpling effect that can occur with age.

Request Botox for the chin to reduce tight muscles that create the orange peel effect, or a very rough surface on the chin area.
