Sun Protection
According to the Mayo Clinic, sun exposure is responsible for most of the skin damage associated with aging. Sun damage can cause uneven pigmentation, liver spots, a loss of elasticity in the skin causing deep grooves, sagging and wrinkles, and of course skin cancer. Much of this damage can be prevented with proper sun protection. Always wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 on all exposed areas of your body, including your hands, face and neck--no matter the weather--and stay away from tanning beds.
Cleansing
Your skin needs to breathe, rest and recover every day, just like the rest of you. Proper cleansing allows your skin to do just that. The best cleansers are strong enough to take off makeup yet gentle enough to not sting your eyes. Wash off all your makeup every night before you go to sleep by gently rubbing the cleanser on your skin and splashing it off with lukewarm water. Avoid washcloths, as they tend to harbor bacteria and pull roughly on delicate skin.
Exfoliation
Exfoliation removes dead, dull skin cells from your upper layer of skin, revealing younger, softer skin beneath. Use a mild abrasive scrub containing sugar or finely ground fruit pits. Chemical exfoliation is an even better option. Choose a product with alpha hydroxy or beta hydroxy acids to brighten your glow.
Moisturize
Dull, dry skin exacerbates wrinkles. Think of a raisin: It is withered and wrinkly because it is dehydrated. Use a moisturizer every day after cleansing to feed your skin and plump those wrinkles. Choose a formula appropriate for your skin type.
Retinoids
