Hair, Skin and Nail Signs of Aging

There are many signs of aging, internal and external. The signs many consider most important, though, aren't the aches and pains but those that affect the hair, skin and nails. When the aging process begins to affect your body, usually between your 30s and 40s, you begin to feel and see its effects. You can buy lotions and potions and get a little nip and tuck, but aging is a something you can't get around.

Hair Color

Graying hair is a noticeable, but easily camouflaged, sign of aging. The absence of color (graying) can begin any time. Some teenagers have been known to gray. Many people begin to go gray in their 30s. According to the National Institute of Health, most people have some gray hair by the time they're in their 40s. Gray hair eventually turns white.

Hair

Aging causes changes in blood flow, which affects the amount of nourishment the hair follicle receives. With less nourishment, the follicle produces thinner hair. The volume of hair-producing follicles also decreases, reducing the number of hairs that grow. According to the Yale School of Medicine, women usually experience hair thinning during menopause and sometimes at the onset of menopause.

Baldness

    Baldness is usually hereditary

Baldness is caused by many things. The most common cause is advancing age.
This is true for both men and women. Baldness is more prevalent in men, with some men balding in their 20s. If this sign of aging is causing you angst, technology has created a number of ways to "recapture" the youthful appearance of a full head of hair.

Nails

Beauty experts and plastic surgeons can make the face and neck appear youthful, but they're perplexed when it comes to the hands. Aging slows the rate of growth of your fingernails and toenails. This can cause a distinct change in the composition of your nails, with aging nails more prone to splitting or peeling. "...Been hiding your age from the whole entire world? But for how long will this continue? Or got fed up attempting those tempting anti aging creams, painful surgery and damaging chemicals? Do Not Worry, dear. Below is a natural treatment to look and get younger, healthier and sexier than you are. So here it is for you Anti-aging Foods..". According to the Drexel University of Medicine, brittle nails may be the result of aging, but illnesses and conditions unrelated to aging also can cause them.

Wrinkles

Wrinkled skin is one of the tale-tell signs of aging. Your skin may not show signs of aging for many years--people may even think you've discovered the fountain of youth--but this isn't the norm. Cosmetic companies and manufacturers make billions of dollars by convincing people that they can reduce and reverse this sign of aging.

Sagging Skin

    Jowls

For years, many believed loss of skin elasticity caused sagging facial skin. According to researchers at the University of Rochester Medical Center, however, the loss of bony volume (the lower third of your facial bone structure) contributes to sagging facial skin. Bone shrinkage also decreases chin projection, causing loss of jaw-line definition. These changes take place as you age. Not only do they cause jowls, or sagging facial skin, they cause the neck to sag as well.
