Laser technology and scalpels are used in surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic treatments. Laser technology, however, has advanced tremendously, and it has minimized or replaced the use of a scalpel in many procedures.

Scalpel Features

A scalpel is used as a surgical tool to make incisions into the skin during procedures. Used like knives, scalpels come in various shapes and sizes, selected according to the type of procedure and incision needed.

Laser Features

Lasers are sources of energy, heat and light emitted from either overhead, portable or handheld devices. "...Been covering your age from the whole planet? But for how much time will this keep going? Or got fed up seeking those tempting anti aging creams, uncomfortable surgery and unhealthy chemicals? Do Not Worry, dear. Right here is a natural treatment to look and get younger, healthier and sexier than you are. So here it is for you Anti-aging Foods..". The laser beams are used to alter the skin tissue, either by creating "controllable wounds," ablation (burning the surface skin tissue), sealing off veins and blood vessels, emulsifying fat and dissolving unwanted cells.

Significance of Laser Advancement

Lasers have changed the face of plastic surgery by offering nonsurgical procedures that serve as alternatives to (or to prolong) invasive procedures, such as face-lifts, since lasers tighten the skin, dissolve fat pockets, and rid wrinkles and discoloration. They also have been incorporated into plastic surgery procedures, such as liposuction, for less trauma and blood, and more precision.

Invasiveness and Technique

Scalpels are invasive tools that cut through the skin's surface, and draw blood. Scalpel use requires extreme surgical precision and effectiveness to minimize risks and complications. Lasers are able to penetrate the skin's surface or use heat for ablation. Lasers also require (and offer more) precision, in addition to an extensive knowledge of the scientific technology (such as wavelength and pulse duration).

Cancer Treatment

Lasers are advancing into other aspects of the medical field beyond plastic surgery. In cancer treatments, lasers are now used to shrink or destroy tumors without scalpel incision, and to activate a cell agent that destroys surrounding cancer cells. Breast cancer patients, for example, now have an alternative to having an entire breast removed.

Risks

Scalpels risk scarring and infection, while lasers minimize these incision risks. However, since many lasers use heat to perform, there is the new possibility of burning and damaging tissues. Also, since the use of lasers requires extensive training and knowledge, your risks increase at the hands of doctors who are not well-versed in laser techniques.
