How to Fix Baggy Eyebrows

Conventional wisdom suggests that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Unfortunately, over time the combined effects of gravity and aging can make the muscles around the eyes saggy and baggy. Baggy eyebrows close off the eyes and give the impression that you are angry or upset, even when you are quite happy. In severe cases, baggy eyebrows force the eyelids down as well and can lead to vision problems.

Instructions

Tone your facial muscles and improve circulation to the area by performing facial exercises. Sit up straight in a chair and close your eyes. Lift your eyebrows while simultaneously trying to move your eyelids down further over your eyes. Hold the position while slowly counting to five, and repeat five times. As a separate exercise, sit up straight and scowl, bringing your eyebrows together at the top of your nose and flaring your nostrils. Hold this position while slowly counting to 10, and repeat five times.

Have your eyebrows waxed by a professional. Ask for an obvious arch with a thinner brow line. This combination will open your eyes and reduce the appearance of baggy eyebrows.

Consider having botulinum toxin treatment, which paralyzes the muscles that cause your eyebrows to appear baggy. This treatment is not permanent, and you would need to have it performed every three or four months. Not everyone is a candidate, and it carries risks such as further drooping of the eyebrows and eye lids that can only be corrected with surgery.

Opt for a browlift. Surgeons can now perform browlifts endoscopically, minimizing the length of the incisions and the amount of hair that has to be removed. In this procedure, the surgeon makes incisions just behind the hair line and lifts the forehead tissue to its new position. This procedure carries a number of risks, so consult with a qualified surgeon.
