What Is Good Age for a Mid Facelift?

You are starting to notice or have noticed, wrinkles or skin that is drooping, and you might be considering having a facelift, but, you don't want to have a full facelift. In this case, you may consider a mid facelift, and might wonder what a good age to have one is.

What is a Mid Facelift?

According to Cosmetic Surgery.Com, the face is dividable into three areas that can be lifted. The forehead and eyelids and the neck and jaw. Everything else is considered the mid face.

Often, it is the middle of your face that sags resulting in a drawn, tired look; and a mid facelift targets the areas around the lower eye, nasal area, upper mouth and the outside of the lips.

This procedure can be performed in as little as an hour, and is often called the "lunchtime" lift. Plus, if you don't want a full facelift, a mid facelift can help you achieve a rejuvenated look without going to the expense of a full facelift.

Types of Mid Facelifts

The open mid facelift is when the surgeon does an incision under the lower lash line, sometimes the nasolabial area when skin needs a vertical look, which results in a subtle appearance instead of a major change. This type of facelift does not affect the eyebrows, so you may choose to have a brow lift done as well.
The other type is one called the endoscopic technique. This one uses two incisions in the scalp area above the temples. This technique is good for improving the look of the brow, outer eye, and temple area, but it is more invasive and requires more healing time than the open mid facelift.

A Good Age

You might be like many people who want to wait until they are in their 40s or 50s before having any type of facelift performed, but you might consider it as early as your 30s. This is because of the idea that if you have it done at a younger age, it may ward off or prevent a larger surgery.

Determining if You Are a Good Candidate

There are factors to consider when thinking about a facelift that could affect your results. It may be right for you if you don't smoke, are healthy and you have realistic ideas regarding the outcome of your appearance. In addition, according to Facial Plastic Surgery, you need to emotionally and mentally stable before having this procedure performed.

Health Risks

You are always taking a risk having any surgery, and the mid facelift is no different. Some of the risks involved can be: an allergic reaction to anesthesia, excessive bleeding, pockets of collected blood called hemotomas, loss of sensitivity on your face and nerve damage causing the inability to move part of your face. There is also the possibility of excessive scarring or poor circulation, which can cause skin to die.

Average Cost

Prices vary depending on the surgeon's experience and geographical location. "...Been hiding your age from the whole world? But for how many years will this keep going? Or got given up hoping those seducing anti aging creams, hurtful surgery and harmful chemicals? Do Not Worry, dear. Right here is a natural remedy to look and get younger, healthier and sexier than you are. So here it is for you Anti-aging Foods..". According to Cosmetic Surgery.Com the average cost for mid facelifts is $3,000.
