How to Apply Eyelash Extensions at Home

Long eyelashes are all the rage. Eyelash bars are popping up in cities. Having your eyelashes professionally done can exhaust your budget not to mention the upkeep required. I promise you that you can do this at home. It does take some practice but it will be worth it when you see how amazing your lashes look!

Instructions

First you need to get all your supplies together. I like Ardells eyelash extensions in flare short which can be purchased at Ulta or pretty much anywhere for about $4. Also get the eyelash glue in a clear bottle. The eyelash remover is also good to have.

Make sure you lashes are clean and do not have make up or water on them. If you wear contacts, put them in first. Curl your lashes. Poor a small amount of glue onto the plastic container that the lashes come in. Take your tweezers and grip one of the extensions in the package. Grip the flared part and pull from package. Dip the end of lash into the glue. Less glue is better and only get it on the tip of the lash where it comes together.

Look in the mirror and close the eye that you plan on putting the lash on while keeping the other open so you can see what you are doing. Depending on how many lashes you want to apply, I would do no more than 3 extension on each eye, start closer to your pupil and work out. Saving the last lash for the end of your eyelashes closer to your cheekbone. Apply first lash and press lightly for about 10 seconds. If the lash is not on you can usually tell because it is sideways or flips up more. If you wait for too long to use the glue it will get tacky, so you may need to use some more glue in the beginning while you are getting the hang of things. Do not pull lashes off when done or if they are not completely on because you will probably end up pulling out some of your lashes too. Use a cotton swab and dip into the lash remover then apply this to your lashes to remove them. You can apply mascara to your newly affixed lashes after about 10 minutes.
