How to Erase Bags Under the Eyes

Numerous inexpensive home remedies treat bags under the eyes. When you apply them properly, home remedies may delay the onset of wrinkles and fine lines and reduce the appearance of under-eye bags. You may prepare simple remedies from common kitchen supplies and ingredients such as cucumber and teabags and apply regularly over two to four weeks. Along with simple treatments, a change in diet and healthier sleeping habits may also help control the formation and development of bags under the eyes.

Instructions

Mash together thinly sliced cucumber pieces until it forms a paste. Apply the paste evenly onto the face, forming a mask, with special attention to the under-eye area. Once the mask dries, rinse off with warm water. This face mask works best when applied in a thick consistency and helps eliminate bags under eyes as well as fine wrinkles.

Prepare freshly-cut, circular slices of potatoes. Lie down in a resting position and place the potatoes over the eyes and affected areas. Applying potato slices over each eye helps reduce puffiness and bags under the eyes. Leave on for at least 10 minutes to see results.

Freeze wet tea bags in the freezer overnight or for half a day. Allow the bags to defrost slightly and then apply to the under-eye area. Teabags help treat under eye puffiness by evenly applying a cool, comforting sensation to the affected areas. The use of teabags will lessen the appearance of bags under the eyes and rejuvenate the skin, making it look younger, softer and more supple.

Switch to a healthier diet. Avoid eating foods made from refined oils or concentrated sweeteners. A diet rich in artificial and refined ingredients may be the underlying reason for bags under the eyes. Replace greasy foods with quality cut meats, beans, vegetables and fruits. Complement a balanced diet with a healthy lifestyle, with moderate amounts of physical activity.

Get enough sleep. Along with a proper diet, an adequate amount of sleep may help treat bags under the eyes. Diet and rest are essential for overall health, and may delay symptoms of aging, including wrinkles and under-eye puffiness.

Consult a doctor or an allergist if under-eye puffiness or bags are persistent. They may be related to a chronic sinus condition or a type of nasal allergy. Treating your allergies or sinus condition can have a significant effect in reducing under-eye bags.
