How to Use Obagi Nu-Derm

Obagi Nu-Derm is a skin care system designed to help keep your skin healthy, refreshed and young-looking. The system uses cleansers and topical products to rejuvenate and help bring up new skin while ridding the skin of old and dead cells. The system is best used with the supervision of a doctor because in the first couple of weeks it can sometimes cause blistering, peeling and pain before the skin clears up and rejuvenates. The doctor should assess your skin's condition and determine if the product is appropriate for your needs, and which specific product line you should use.

Instructions

Morning and evening, wash your face using the system's facial cleanser or foaming gel product. Pat your face dry with a towel.

After cleansing, apply the toner with a cotton ball. Allow the toner to dry on your skin without rinsing it away.

Morning and evening, apply gram of Obagi Clear evenly over the face. This product helps lighten dark spots on the skin and should cover the face and ears. Wait two minutes and then put some more Obagi Clear on the skin's dark spots only.

In the morning only, apply gram of Exfoderm or Exfoderm Forte to the skin and rub in to exfoliate. Avoid the eye areas. Rub until the product absorbs.

In the evening only, mix gram of Obagi Blender with 1 gram of Tretonoin 0.05 or 0.025. More sensitive skin or new users of the product should use the lower-dose Tretonoin. Apply to the skin and rub until it absorbs. Leave on through the night.

Apply Obagi Sunfader and Healthy Skin Protection SPF 35 to the skin before putting on make-up each morning and throughout the day for UVA and UVB protection. You can use a normal sunscreen as you prefer for better protection.

Apply Obagi Action or Tolereen cream as needed to manage dryness and discomfort of the skin. The website Skincare MD suggests using these sparingly because it slows down the process of the system and results in a prolonged need for the product before the skin is restored.
