The skin is the largest organ of the human body, providing protection, electrolyte balance and temperature control. And skin tone refers to the color of person's skin, as well as skin elasticity, such as firm skin that hugs muscle and doesn't sag. According to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), many skin care regimens can improve the skin's function by preventing premature aging and providing an evenly balanced and healthy looking skin tone. Adopting a daily skin toning routine can produce an overall healthier appearance.

    According to many AAD dermatologists, sunscreen is the most potent anti-aging product on the market. Broad-spectrum sunscreens protect skin from the ultraviolet radiation spectrum--the main cause of premature aging and skin cancer. Regular exercise can produce supple and elastic skin that gives off a healthy glow.

Retinoids are a chemical related to vitamin A and found naturally in certain vegetables and synthetically in products used to treat a variety of skin ailments, including uneven skin tone.
