Facial Exercises for Teens

In today's world, people put a premium on their appearance. From plastic surgery to makeup, people are always trying to look their best. Beauty has become a multimillion dollar industry. Your face is often the first part of your body that others notice, and maintaining a youthful face can be a great way to remain confident in your personal appearance. Fortunately, there are exercises that can help your face maintain a healthy appearance. Waiting until your face begins to show signs of aging to begin these facial exercises is a mistake. Beginning a facial exercise routine during your teenage years is the key to effective, long-term results.

Full Face Toning

    This facial exercise involves stretching your entire face to the extremes. You begin scrunching your entire face. Tighten your jaw and cheek muscles, wrinkle your nose and close your eyes and mouth. When performing the exercise properly, you should look like you are grimacing. After holding this position for a few seconds, begin doing the exact opposite process. Open your mouth and eyes as wide as you can. Your jaw and cheeks should hurt when you are doing this step properly. This exercise works every muscle of the face and will allow you to develop a healthy, fit set of facial muscles. As with any exercise, teenagers are able to build these muscles faster and achieve optimal results.

Jaw Toning

    Having a well-defined jaw can be one of the most distinguishable features of someone's face. A chiseled jaw exudes strength and beauty, while a flabby, saggy jaw just says old and out of shape. In order to exercise your jowl muscles, begin by sitting in a chair or on anything that allows you to tilt your head back and look directly at the ceiling. Cheek Toning

    Smiling can be one of the best exercises for the health and appearance of your cheek muscles. Simply grinning from ear to ear over and over again can strengthen the muscles of your cheeks. Adding a few modifications to your everyday smile can turn a fun activity into an effective exercise. While smiling, scrunch your face to one side so that either your left or right cheek protrudes. Repeat the process with the other cheek and alternate for several minutes.
